Micha Forman
Micha has been teaching music for over 15 years. She has taught students of all ages, from toddlers to retired adults, as well as children and adults with additional needs. She has taught in private and community music schools, primary schools, early childhood centres, community centres, and mental health facilities. She currently directs the Community Rock School program at ANU’s Open School of Music, and has done so since its conception in 2018.
Micha has played in many local bands, particularly rock and punk metal bands, but loves playing a wide variety of styles. She was a founding member of African drum and dance group Troupe Olabisi. She currently plays bass in local Canberra band G&T-Rex.
Micha holds a Certificate IV in Community Services and Mental Health. She is passionate about accessible music education, community music programs, and helping individuals connect (or reconnect) with music in their own way.
